Is it Spring Yet???

Vermont has had some wacky weather the past month and a half! It has been between 30 and 40 degrees almost every day for the past couple of weeks!! It has also been raining a lot and there is no snow on the ground which is very unusual. My Mom's crocuses are already starting to come up! I haven't checked my daffodils but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a little nub of green out there! I am worried though because it is supposed to get down to 10 degrees Tuesday evening which will probably kill all the spring bulbs.
My Mango seed has yet to show any activity, and I am afraid the small amount of mold that was growing on it may have killed any chance of it growing. I may just hack it apart and see what's going on inside the husk. Maybe I should have done that in the first place! The banana is doing well I think...it hasn't grown a lot but it is very healthy looking and so far no bugs! Perhaps it needs to be repotted but I have no place to do it right now. Even though its been "warm" it still isn't warm enough to take it outside and chop away at the roots!
My Macintosh apple tree is also doing well. I still think it has whitefly but I haven't seen any adults in a couple of months. I see a white fuzz that appears on the surface of the leaves about 2 days after I rinse them and I have no idea what it is. It hasn't grown a lot either but it may just be going through a dormancy stage. It hasn't dropped a single leaf and its about a foot tall. I planted a Granny Smith seed that started to sprout in the same pot and its about 3 inches tall so maybe I'll be able to populate our backyard with some fruit trees after all! I am not sure if I should have planted the Mac outside before winter so it would get used to the cold. I didn't want to take a chance with it being so young... I will have to research more about how to propagate them.
The citrus trees are also doing very well under the small grow lamp I have. I am sure a more professional grower would see my little set up and die laughing but its getting the plants through the winter! Not that I will know what to do with them once they start really growing in the summer!! I'll have to get a bigger lamp I guess for next year!! I have about 10 total since I have a hard time throwing away grapefruit seeds and I eat grapefruit every day!
